Jersey City Book Fair

 ONE MONTH TO GO!

The Jersey City Book Fair is officially ONE MONTH AWAY, and we are SO excited to bring this inaugural celebration of books, literacy, storytelling, and community to Jersey City!

Join us Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 | 12–5 PM at the Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center, 140 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City, NJ.

And because POETRY LIVES HERE.

As poets ourselves, we know what happens when words move beyond the page. Poetry gives us a way to name what we feel, preserve what we’ve lived, question what we see, and connect with one another. We’re proud to make space for local poets and celebrate the voices helping shape our literary community.

 MEET OUR FEATURED POETRY PERFORMERS:

Simple N’ Clean (SNC) -Jersey City’s nationally ranked spoken word artist, Poetry Slam Champion, writer, and educator.

Ameerah Shabazz -Newark-based award-winning poet, author, illustrator, photographer, educator, and visual artist blending poetry with visual storytelling.

James C. Ellerbe -New Jersey-based author and performer whose literary work has taken him to stages and institutions throughout the region.

Isabel Cruz -Boricua poet, Emeritus Youth Poetry Ambassador for the Paterson Poetry Festival, and 2025 Brooklyn Poets Fellow.

Because we believe:

Every voice has a story to tell.
Poetry gives language to what we carry.
Words have the power to connect communities.

Come celebrate the writers, readers, storytellers, and artists who remind us that poetry belongs everywhere.
